At Ancient City Education and Training, we offer HeartCode® Basic Life Support (BLS)—a convenient, blended learning option approved by the American Heart Association (AHA). This course combines self-paced online instruction with an in-person skills session conducted at our St. Augustine training center. It’s ideal for busy healthcare providers who need a flexible path to maintain or earn BLS certification.
This hybrid format allows participants to complete the cognitive portion at their own pace, followed by a hands-on skills check with an experienced instructor to ensure real-life readiness.
This Skills Session is for students who have completed the online portion of the HeartCode® BLS for Healthcare Providers course. It involves a brief practice session followed by a check of the student’s skill at performing 1- and 2-rescuer CPR for an adult and infant. Most Skills Sessions last about 30 minutes.

HeartCode® BLS is an official American Heart Association (AHA) blended learning option. You complete the interactive, cognitive online coursework at your own pace (~1–2 hours), and then attend a fast, focused, in-person skills evaluation (45–60 minutes) at our St. Augustine facility.
Led by AHA-certified instructors, the hands-on session involves a brief practice followed by a formal check of your 1- and 2-rescuer CPR skills for adults, children, and infants, as well as proper AED usage, rescue breathing, and choking response.
Yes, you must purchase and complete your keycode module online via the official AHA website (https://shopcpr.heart.org/heartcode-bls) before arriving. The hands-on skills session at our facility costs $45, with small class sizes limited to 6 students.
Upon successfully passing the skills session, you will receive an official AHA HeartCode® BLS eCard valid for 2 years. We also provide on-site HeartCode® BLS skills evaluations for healthcare offices, clinics, and professional medical teams—call 904-265-5832 to coordinate group scheduling.
