Empowering Young Caregivers with Confidence and Safety Skills in St. Augustine, FL
The SafeSitter Essentials course at Ancient City Education and Training in St. Augustine is specially designed for pre-teens and teens who want to learn the fundamentals of safe and responsible babysitting. This engaging, hands-on course covers everything from infant and childcare basics to how to respond confidently in an emergency.
Taught by experienced medical professionals, this class provides practical knowledge, life-saving skills, and essential safety tips—perfect for young caregivers who want to build trust with the families they serve.
Taught by certified Safe Sitter® Instructors. Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn safety skills, childcare skills, first aid & rescue skills, and life & business skills. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Class time: 5.5- 6 hours (student must bring lunch).
- Child and infant CPR instruction and choking response
- First aid basics: cuts, burns, allergic reactions, and more.
- Babysitting responsibilities and emergency readiness.
- Feeding, diapering, and bedtime routines.
- How to handle stranger danger and unsafe situations.
- How to build a babysitting business and communicate with parents.
- Note: This course is not a CPR certification course.
This course is ideal for:
