The SafeSitter Essentials course at Ancient City Education and Training in St. Augustine is specially designed for pre-teens and teens who want to learn the fundamentals of safe and responsible babysitting. Taught by certified Safe Sitter® Instructors. Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn safety skills, childcare skills, first aid & rescue skills, and life & business skills. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Class time: 5.5- 6 hours (student must bring lunch).

We recommend this course for ages 11 to 16, but older teens are welcome as well.
It includes training in CPR and choking response, but not formal BLS certification. We offer full CPR certification separately.
